Not all meat is raised the same. At Bluestem Ranch, we believe the way animals are raised directly impacts the flavor, nutrition, and quality of the food on your table. Our livestock are raised on pasture using regenerative farming practices that work with nature rather than against it. The result is food that is not only better for the land and your body, but noticeably better on your plate.

Born and Raised on Our Farm
Many meat products are sourced from multiple farms and finished in feedlots. Our cattle and sheep are born and raised right here on our farm, allowing us to care for them from start to finish and ensure they are raised responsibly every step of the way. Our pigs and chickens are sourced from local farmers and hatcheries where we know the quality of animals we're getting.

Raised on Pasture

Our cattle, sheep, pigs, and chickens live outdoors on pasture where they can express their natural behaviors. Fresh air, sunshine, and open space create healthier animals and produce meat with deeper, more natural flavor.

Regenerative Farming Practices

Our Story

In 2008, I visited a regenerative ranch for the first time, and I was immediately struck by how natural—and how right—it felt. The plants, animals, and soils were all thriving, guided by intentional management rather than fertilizers and pesticides. I realized then, that farming and ranching could work with nature instead of fighting it.

In 2017, my wife and I purchased a small pasture. I began putting into practice the principles of regenerative agriculture that I had spent nearly a decade learning about. Since then, our ranch has grown to include several more leased properties, with livestock carefully rotated from paddock to paddock. By working in sync with nature, we aim to support the full ecological and genetic expression of our animals, the plants above ground, and the organisms beneath the soil surface.

Each component plays a vital role, working together to strengthen the ecological health and long-term vitality of our ranch. The result of this effort is wholesome, nourishing food that we are proud to share with our family and our customers.
